4. Left lick on the following link and click 'open in new tab'
Another tab should open in your browser with an online virtual keyboard on it. You will be using this online virtual keyboard to identify the pitches of your improvisational solo. When a key of the virtual keyboard is clicked on a sound is produced equivalent to the same pitches that, that key of a piano or physical keyboard would produce.
5. Click on the play button in pro-tools. Click on the stop button after you hear the first pitch.
6. Repeat step 5, but this time sing the same pitch. Continue to sing and remember the pitch as you play the keys on the online virtual keyboard. Once you find that the pitch are singing is the same as a particular key on the keyboard, notice that note on the diagram below.
7. Copy that pitch into your finale document with it’s corresponding note value symbol. You will find it’s corresponding note value symbol in your rhythmic transcription ( which is in the drum section).
8. Complete steps 1 to 7 for every pitch in order of their sounding in your improvisational solo.
9. Once you believe you have notated all ten bars of your improvisational solo with the correct pitches and with the correct rhythmic structure listen to it and your improvisational solo again. If you feel it is consistent with your improvisational solo put your hand up.
10. Once I have let you know that your transcription is consistent with the pitches and the rhythmical structure of your improvisational solo save your finale file.
